As we get older, our eyelids can become the first area of the face to suffer from showing those signs of aging. Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about aging because we all do that from the moment we are born. However, we can do something about the appearance of aging.
Not so many years ago, there was nothing anyone could do about the look of aging. But minor surgery has been developed today so that things such as droopy eyes can be taken care of with an eyelid lift right here in San Francisco. This can provide such an incredible boost for self-confidence that it is worth doing for that reason alone. For many people, it is not aging that is the problem but the fact that they know that they look so much older to others than they actually feel.
However, there can be an even more important reason for having an eyelid lift in San Francisco and that is because the skin of the upper eyelid can often stretch out, resulting in issues with peripheral vision. In turn that can cause problems when you are driving or trying to read. Problems with reading are one thing, but problems with vision when you are driving are something else entirely. That can be extremely dangerous.
Dr. Rabinovich Can Help You With Eyelid Issues
Fortunately, at Visage Medspa & Facial Plastic Surgery Center, our own oral surgeon Alex Rabinovich can help you with an eyelid lift in San Francisco. This can take the form of minor surgery, when the upper eyelid can have excess skin and fat removed in a process called blepharoplasty. The surgery only takes about an hour and can be done under local anesthetic.
A similar procedure can be used to remove “bags” under the lower eyelid and remove the wrinkles that have formed in the skin. Dr. Rabinovich can make a small incision either just under the eyelashes or on the inside of the lower eyelids in order to tighten up the skin and remove excess fat that has formed. This procedure also only takes about an hour. There will be some initial swelling and bruising which will take one to two weeks to resolve, but after that you will have a much younger appearance and feel so much more confident.
Dr. Rabinovich can also use laser treatment to achieve the same sort of effect. Laser resurfacing ablates, or vaporizes, a layer of skin which removes the old, damaged skin and simultaneously shrinks it, thus removing those awful wrinkles. We use the very latest Sciton TRL laser which is far safer than older CO2 lasers.
Dr. Rabinovich is happy to provide all patients with an initial consult when he can assess the best procedure for your individual situation and answer all your questions.
