San Francisco is a fabulous city and there are loads of things to see and do here, so we are lucky to call ourselves San Franciscans. Just to begin with, we have the Golden Gate Bridge which is the most photographed bridge in the world. Hardly surprising, with its’ iconic 746’ high orange towers which have guarded the entrance to the Bay since 1937. The view is spectacular, with the city on one side, nature on the other, and the deep blue sea underneath.
Want to see what is it like to be in prison? Take a trip out to Alcatraz Island, which the most notorious criminals of the early 20th century used to call home. For a really creepy feel, try a night tour. Take a heavy jacket – it can get cold out there.
Golden Gate Park houses some of San Francisco’s most beloved institutions – the Victorian-era glass-ensconced Conservatory of Flowers, the de Young Fine Arts Museum, and the Academy of Sciences, among them. There are 1,000 acres of rolling hills, forest, gardens, and hidden treasures.
Fancy a coffee? Stop off at the Buena Vista on Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s been open for 105 years, but it wasn’t until 1952 that Irish chef Joe Sheridan invented the Irish coffee. The white-coated bartenders today serve up 2,000 cups of it every day.
Sealions Frolic All Year Round
While you are at Fisherman’s Wharf, pop along to Pier 39 where the sealions live. Nobody knows why they chose this spot, but there are plenty of fish and squid available, and the group, which is mostly young males, frolic there all year round.
Take a visit to the Anchor Brewing Company on Potrero Hill. It’s been there since 1896 and was reopened in the 1960’s to pioneer the craft brewing renaissance. You can take a 90-minute tour with beer tastings. They also have beer workshops, trivia nights, and experimental beers every Friday.
So yes, there are many great things to love about San Francisco, especially if you are like many San Franciscans who always want to look their best. The city is also home to Visage Medspa & Facial Plastic Surgery Center in the Financial District. Here you can get the best possible facelift, known as the Visage Rapid Recovery Lift.
Pioneered by our Dr. Alex Rabinovich, it incorporates certain established procedures together with adaptations that Dr. Rabinovich has made, which mean that there is less bruising and swelling, scars heal faster and cannot be seen, and the overall look is softer and more natural, without the tightness that is apparent in older procedures.
Dr. Rabinovich is happy to provide patients a consultation in San Francisco when he can answer all your questions.
